Holy COW! It's MAY already???

If your life is anything like mine, the days just fall out from underneath you. The minutes turn into hours and the hours turn into days and the next thing you know... an entire week is gone. That has been my week. I've been home on stay-cation with my boys and trying to make the best of it.

I have a lot of goals, I want to do a lot of things. I often times get myself in over my head with too many things going on. You would think I would recognize that and take a step back from everything to let myself catch up. Nope. Never. Always too much going on.

I keep telling myself that some day it will be quiet around here again, the kids will grow up and move on to families of their own and it'll just be Kevin & I again. I need to learn to appreciate the chaos a little more. Until then, I'm just doing the best I can in every moment to be busy, stay positive, and keep moving in the right direction.

My happy place is with my crafts, as we all know. I want to get myself out there in the crafty-blogging-community and I'm never going to do it if I don't get back to it! So.... Here I am! Wish me luck.

Here is my first card made using the Tim Holtz Alterations Embossing folder that came with the Mini Bird Crazy stamp/sentiment set & matching dies. I have scoured the internet looking for a link to these silly sets that are sold at Michaels and I cannot find one ANYWHERE! Anyhow --

Birds stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black ink
Glossy Accents added to their eyes (just now) after these photos were taken for some added shine

Here's the full card. I wasn't crazy about the sentiments that came in with the stamps (HELLO, LOVE, FRIEND, THANK, MISS, YOU). The birds have SOOOO much character so I wanted to match that with an appropriate sentiment. I do not have any of the matching bird accessories like hats and such... but I still feel like it has a great pop of color and will make the birthday recipient smile.

I absolutely adore that alphabet stamp from Lawn Fawn. I have used it on a few other projects recently, but I added it to another banner here on these Rock & Roll themed baby shower invitations for my sister:

Also used in the Rock A Bye Baby cards was:

110lb Recollections Cardstock (black) for the card base
65lb Recollections Cardstock (white) for the sentiment banner
65lb Recollections Cardstock (black) for the guitars and die cut letters
Mama Elephants Bold Banner for the die cut banner
Recollections heavy glitter paper (lime green)
Violet's ABCs from Lawn Fawn for "ROCK A BYE" and a little sharpie for the dots
Cole's ABCs from Lawn Fawn for "BABY" under the banner
Memento Tuxedo Black ink to stamp "ROCK A BYE"
Eileen's Tacky Glue to adhere the pieces to the glitter paper
Scotch ATG tape runner to adhere the glitter paper to the card base
a little fun foam sheets cut into rectangles to support the banner

I hope you like what you see here today and I would love to read some comments from readers! I will make a post with the Mother's Day Cards I made this year soon, I hope!
